Creating a Job

Use the steps below to create a job and start the Imaging and Assembly process.
| 1. | Browse to or create your working folder. You can do this in Windows or use the browse functionality on the Job Center screen. |
| 2. | From the toolbar select New Job or select New Job from the File menu. The new job dialog opens. |

| 3. | Use this dialog to instruct EIA how you would like to build this new job. |
| • | The Input Directory |
| Instructs EIA where to look for files to include in this job. |
| • | Job name |
Your name for this job.
| • | PDF file input |
You can include a PDF file, each page will be included as an image.
| • | Add PDF files |
Check this box to include PDF files.
| • | Detect raster PDF files and extract images |
If your PDF file includes raster images
| • | Force Black/White extraction |
Select this option to force Black/White extraction rather than grayscale.
| • | Normalize PDF files |
If you want your PDF file Normalized
| • | PostScript file input |
You can include PS files in your job.
| • | Add PostScript files |
Check this selection to include PS files.
| • | Use Distiller |
Use Distiller to detect raster PS files and extract images.
| • | Use GhostScript |
Use GhostScript to detect and raster PS files and extract images.
| • | Detect raster PS filed and extract images |
Select this option to detect raster PS files and extract images.
| • | Raster file input |
You can include raster files in your job.
| • | Add image files |
Check this box to include raster files.
| • | Show selected file list |
Select this option to display the files you have requested for review before the job is created.
| • | Add all files from directory |
Select this option to include all files requested from the input directory selected in your job.
| • | Distiller profile Button |
Select one of the Distiller profiles in the list. To examine your Distiller Profiles
open Acrobat Distiller and from Setting menu select "Edit Adobe PDF Settings" Following settings displays a high quality setting wihtout downsampling and loss-less compression:

| 4. | When you have set your new job options, click OK. The Input files dialog will open if you chose "Show selected file list" Each section displays all available files in your directory sorted by file type. De-select all files not to be included in the job before you select Continue. |
When you click Continue, EIA creates your job by creating a copy of your input files in the job cache, leaving your original files intact.
