In the alignment process we discovered the content, aligned the pages, made adjustments and proofed the book. We did this all based on a rasterized version of the book's pages. Now we are ready to apply the discovered parameters to a copy of the original PDF file.

1.Click the Apply to PDF button.

Proofer then performs the following tasks:

a.Applies the new page size to the PDF file as specified in the Output Canvas of the Page Setup.
b.Shifts the page(s) according to the automatic alignment performed in the Align Pages process and the manual alignment you may have performed in the Proof View.
c.Merges the PDF files if there are more than one present.
d.*Rasterizes the newly-created PDF file for additional validation and proofing.

This is an optional step that is needed only if a new page layout or processing parameter will be applied. The output PDF file will represent the perfectly aligned Single Master copy.

Proofer then places the output PDF file and the (optional) rasterized page images in the Output Tree. This copy will be used for the final step: Impositioning.
