| PPP is not only an image processor, it is also an image investigation, viewer and editor tool. When you are searching for images, deciding which images to process, or checking the result of the processing, you can use the built-in viewing capabilities of PPP. In addition, you can even make simple modifications to the image. You can delete a rectangular area, or move or copy a part of an image.
| The built-in viewer provides you the following capabilities:
| |
| · | Display, zoom and scroll any color, gray-scaled or bitonal image, including single and multi-page images.
| · | Two viewing modes: single (display 1 image only) and dual (2 images side-by-side).
| · | Browse the whole directory without exiting the viewer.
| · | Current cursor position and image size indicator.
| · | Measure a distance or an angle.
| · | Swap two image files in dual mode.
| · | Display guidelines that can be used for setting up margins and edge cleanup visually.
| In editing mode, you can also do the following:
| |
| · | Select a rectangular area of an image.
| · | Delete content of selection or everything outside the selection.
| · | Copy selection to the clipboard. Paste content of clipboard. This way you can transfer images between the built-in editor and an external editor program.
| · | Manually deskew the current image.
| To open the built-in image viewer:
| · | Double click on an image file in the File Browsing List, or right-click and choose View Image from the popup menu.
| · | Double click on an image in the Selected Files List, or right-click and choose View Image from the popup menu.
| · | Double click on an image in the Thumbnail View, or right-click and choose View Image from the popup menu.
| · | Click the View button in the Exception List or in the Good Files List. Here you can also double click on an image, or right-click and choose View Image.
| To open the built-in image editor:
| · | Similarly to the image viewer, right-click on an image and choose Edit Image from the popup menu. This directly puts you to the image editor.
| · | You can always switch between the editor and the viewer by clicking the Edit icon ( ) on the toolbar.
| In fact, there is no difference between the viewer and the editor, they are the same window. They look and work the same way, except you can not modify an image in viewing mode. You have to switch to editing mode to use the editing features. This protects you from accidental modifications to the image in viewing mode.
