The status bar (Figure 6-3) is displayed at the very bottom of the Main window and contains operating information.

If the detailed hints are turned on, you will see information displayed about the current item on which the mouse cursor is positioned. This helps novice users identify the different controls in PPP. To turn this feature on or off, choose Options > PPP Options, click the Misc. Settings tab, and check or uncheck the Show detailed hints in the status bar option, respectively.

If detailed hints are turned off, the status bar will display information about the last operation.
