PPP supports any TWAIN compatible scanner. TWAIN is a low-level standardized interface between the scanner and the application programs. Almost all scanners support TWAIN. If your scanner comes with a TWAIN driver, you have to install it before using PPP as a scanning software. If your scanner does not come with a TWAIN driver, you should call the technical support of your scanner manufacturer and ask for a TWAIN driver. Of course PPP will work even if you do not have a TWAIN driver, except you will not be able to scan with it.

It is possible to have more than one scanner connected to your computer. If this is the case, you have to select which scanner you would like to use. If you do not select a scanner before scanning with PPP, then the default scanner will be used.

To select a scanner, choose Select Twain Source from the Scan menu. You will get a list of the installed scanners. Select one of them and click OK. After that, PPP will use the selected scanner for scanning images.
