Scanning Images

A typical scanning scenario should be like the following:
- Open PPP.
- Switch to the Job Setup page.
- Navigate to the directory where you would like to place the scanned image files.
- Click on Scanning Parameters in the Scan menu and set up the file naming convention and the cropping options if necessary.
- Choose Select Scanner from the Scan menu and select your scanner from the list.
- Click on Acquire in the Scan menu.
PPP will automatically pop up the built-in viewer, TWAIN user interface and the small Scanning Parameters window on screen. In Figure 11-5, you can see a screen shot of all of these windows. We can not show you how the TWAIN user interface looks and works on your computer, because that is not a part of PPP. The TWAIN interface is a piece of software that comes with your scanner. Different scanners come with different TWAIN interfaces. The one in Figure 11-3 is the TWAIN interface for a Xerox DocuImage 620S scanner.

If you would like to re-scan an image, first go to the No edit box and specify the page number to be scanned. After scanning the image, PPP will overwrite the old image and display the new one in the viewer.
