Misc. Settings
| The Misc. Settings page contains miscellaneous PPP settings. A screen shot of the page is shown in Figure 10-7.

| The Show menu on startup option determines whether the startup menu should show up on the startup of PPP. If the check box is checked, the menu will pop up, but if it is unchecked, the menu will not come up.

| The options in the Hints group box determine the behavior of the pop up hints and the status bar hints:

| · | The Show hints option specifies the behavior of the pop up hints (also known tool tips). The Never option means that no hints will pop up at all. This is suggested for advanced PPP users only. The For toolbar buttons only option means that the tool tips will only appear for the toolbar buttons as you move the mouse over them. The For all objects on each window option means that the small hint labels will pop up for all items as you move the mouse over them.

| · | The Show detailed hints in the status bar option controls the behavior of the long hints. If the option is checked, a short description, also called a long hint, will be displayed in the status bar as you move the mouse over an item of PPP. Advanced PPP users might find this feature annoying. So you can turn off the long hints by unchecking this option.
