Menu Bar
| The menu bar (Figure 6-2) is displayed at the top of PPP's Main window and contains the following menus:

| Contains the file and system-related commands. It offers the following sub-options:
| |
| · | New Job: Create a new job.
| |
| · | Open Job: Open an existing job.
| |
| · | Save Job: Save the current job.
| |
| · | Copy Job To: Makes a copy of the current job to a different directory.
| |
| · | Move Job To: Moves the current job to a different directory.
| |
| · | Open Settings: Open PPP settings. Unlike Open Job, this menu option only loads the Margin Setup, Page Setup, Cleanup, and the Batch Parameters settings. It does not load the Image Selection List, the Exception List, or the Good File List.

| · | Save Settings As: Save the current PPP settings. Unlike Save Job, this menu option only saves the Margin Setup, Page Setup, Cleanup, and the Batch Parameters settings. It does not save the Image Selection List, the Exception List, or the Good Files List.

| · | Run PixEdit: Load and run PixEdit, an image editor program that ships with the Professional version of PPP.
| |
| At the end of the menu is a list of the most recently opened jobs. You can click to open one of them.

| The place for the job-oriented commands. The submenus in the Job menu are the following:

| · | Process Images: Process the images in the Image Selection List and re-process the images in the Exception List.
|
| · | Process Existing Job: Open a new job and process it, just like Process Images does.
|
| · | Process Existing Jobs: Process deferred jobs. You can specify a list of job files to process.
|
| Provides access to the scanning options and starts the scanning procedure:

| · | Select Twain Source: Select a scanner from the list of Twain-compatible scanners attached to your computer.
|
| · | Scanning Parameters: Customize scanning, specify the file naming convention and cropping.
|
| · | Acquire: Start scanning images.
|
| Allows you to customize PPP and set up the image processor parameters. The submenus in the Options menu are the following:

| · | PPP Options: Customize PPP.
|
| · | Page Detection Settings: Create, modify or view the page detection parameters.
|
| · | Select Language: Select the language of the program.
|
| · | Refresh Thumbnail Cache: Refresh the watched image directories now. See Chapter 7, Viewing and Editing Images for more about the thumbnail cache.
|
| · | Stop Thumbnail Generation: Stop refreshing the watched image directories.
|
| Used to navigate between the PPP windows. The submenus in the Window menu are the following:

| · | Calculator: Open the built-in calculator.
|
| · | Good Files List: Show the Good Files List window and make it active.
|
| · | Exception List: Show the Exception List window and make it active.
|
| · | Thumbnail View: If a Thumbnail View is open, make it active.
|
| Offers online help and information about PPP. The submenus in the Help menu are the following:
|
| · | Contents: Table of Contents.
|
| · | Index: An index, where you can search by keyword.
|
| · | Web Link: A link to PPP's Web site. This automatically opens the default browser.
|
| · | About: Information about the current version of PPP.
|
