The image processor of PPP reads input images, processes them and generates output images. This all would not make any sense if you were unable to convert your paper documents into digital format, which could be read by PPP. Therefore we added a scanning interface to the software, which lets you scan a large number of documents for further processing.

The scanner interface of PPP lets you select the output directory for the scanned images, define a custom file naming and numbering convention, set up an automatic image cropping being performed during scanning, and it also lets you go back and re-scan your bad images.

In this chapter, we will cover how to set up an automatic file naming convention, how to scan images and correct the bad scans by re-scanning them.
