Connection between ELAN Capture and Goldmine for indexing scanned documents.

Forms Extraction Advanced

The same functionality as the Forms Extraction module, with the addied features of rules-based processing. The user can set up rules based on the existance or value of a field defined in the template file.

Forms Extraction Basic

Extracts textual information from a raster image, based on zones. The user can define a template by specifying rectangular areas for data extraction. The defined areas are OCR-ed, and the data is saved either in a metadata field within the Elan Desktop Environment for later export, or a database is populated with the values directly. The extracted data can be validated and errors are presented in an exception list. The fields can be set up with imput mask.

ELAN Indexer Module

Provides ways to attach record-specific information to a document. Enables automatic bookmark creation in PDF files. Enables document segmentation. The indexer works within a job, defined by the ELAN Job Tree. It is integrated with the Tree View, where index fields can be set up and values can be attached to files or hierarchy nodes. The population of index fields can be manual, or assisted by barcode recognition and automated forms identification. OCR scraping of image files is also supported.

Elan Job Tree Advanced

The Advanced edition of the ELAN Job Tree adds recto-verso filtering support and drag and drop capability.

Elan Job Tree

Provides tools for renumbering, insertion and deletion of pages defined by a job in Tree-View-enabled applications. The Job Tree is also used to build document hierarchy using the outlining tool. The List Manager provides filtering of the associated data. Pages can be arranged, moved, inserted and renamed to reflect the structure of the document. The outlining and page manipulation is performed using easy-to-use icons associated with the ELAN Tree-View plug-in. The Job Tree is synchronized with the Editor, Viewer and Thumbnail modules.

All the features available in the "Standard" and "Advanced" editions of the ELAN Job Tree are available with the added functionality of handling single-page PDF files

Link Builder Module

Identifies internal links in a document automatically and establishes hotspots on the page. The link strings can be configured by the user. The link’s targets must be previously discovered the validated with the Table of Contents module. The discovered and validated links can be transferred to the PDF output as clickable hyperlinks.

Elan TOC Module

The Elan Table of Content extraction module provides automatic discovery of the document hierarchy and list items by extracting the Table of Contents pages and associate the physical page numbers with the logical page numbers of the document. The hierarchical entries can be manipulated in the Job Tree, and associated list items (List of Illustrations, etc..) can be displayed in the List View. The generated hierarchies can be transferred to PDF files for ease of navigation.
