ELAN Converterâ„¢ is able to generate text output from input image or PDF files, and save those images as TXT files. This is a special operation only available in Watch Mode.

The conversion works like this:

1.You add one or more image or PDF files to Input Folder, just like you would in regular Watch Mode, as if you created a PDF output.
2.Activate: Click on the "Generate text output" in the TEXT tab.

A progress indicator will pop up showing the progress. When it disappears, the job is done. Your output files will have the same name as the input, and for PDF files they will be appended with an underscore and a 4-digit number. For example, if your input PDF "myfile.pdf" has 5 pages, 1 color and 4 black & white, your output files will be named like this:

myfile_0001.txt

myfile_0002.txt

myfile_0003.txt

myfile_0004.txt

myfile_0005.txt

 

The output will be generated in the folder specified. Many times these text files will be used to populate web sites.
