ELAN CD-ROM Browser

ELAN Capture's Publish to CD feature, includes the ELAN CD-ROM Browser application. It provides an intuitive and fast way to find the PDF files you have indexed.
When you insert the CD into the CD drive, the autorun program will launch the browser for you automatically. If you need to launch the browser manually, simply double-click the CdBrowser icon on the top level of the folder.

The CdBrowser Icon
The CD Browser application will launch displaying the search tab and hit list.
This retrieval solution is unique because it is very compliant and does not need any other applications installed on the host system, it runs entirely from the CD or DVD ROM. This simplicity is possible because a native image viewer is included with the application that reads the images encapsulated in the PDF files. These are of course standard PDF files and can be opened with any other reader or editor that supports the PDF standard 1.4, including Adobe Acrobat, GhostScript or other third party viewers.
However, printing from the CD is not supported. Please use your application (most probably Adobe Acrobat/Reader) to open the presented PDF file and take it from there.
To search for an indexed item:
| 1. | Type your search text in the appropriate index field and hit the Enter key (or click Go). |
Note that this is a "contains" search, meaning that you can search for a portion of the index value. For example, in the diagram below, the search text was "ouss" and the search result were "Moussaka" and "Chocolate Mousse".
